Food Review: Chaplin (Century City Mall)

If there’s anything I love about Century City Mall in Makati, it’s the awesome new dining spots one can try out and experience.

There’s one particular contemporary café I wanted to check out and just recently I was very privileged to be given a chance to check out their food selections.

Chaplin serves continental cuisine with a hint of Middle-Eastern flavor. They pride in their food selections made from scratch with high quality ingredients.

The ambience is very cozy with comfy sofas and lounge seats where guests can dine in style and comfort.

Now, let’s talk about the food. As I mentioned earlier, I was able to try a variety of their specialties and I have to say I was not disappointed.

Let’s start with my favorite, the Boureka (240 php), an open-faced croissant sandwich with eggs pesto with fries on the side. The croissant was buttery and flaky and the fillings complemented the freshly baked pastry.

My second fave has to , abe the Home Fries (275 php), potato wedges with cream sauce. Very tasty! Perfect comfort food!

Their flagship the Shakshouka (295 php – 395 php), 2 eggs poached in tomato sauce, onions and chili peppers with a selection of extra ingredients is magnificently appetizing. It is so flavorful and is a perfect partner with bread.

Up next is their Chicken Steak (375 php), which is absolutely savory and flavorful. It’s grilled to perfection and well marinated making it so succulent.

Not to miss out is their Truffle Mushroom (395 php) a divine and creamy pasta sprinkled with tons of parmesan, utterly delectable.

By the time our dessert was served I was already full. Their servings are quite filling, also can be for sharing probably good for 2 people.

Anyway, when we were served the Crumble Cheesecake (220 php), their creamy New York style cheesecake, I felt like I died and went to cheesecake heaven… it was decadent I can’t help but indulge.

We were then served their Chaplin Tea (160 php), which has the right blend of mint, ginger, honey with orange slice and cinnamon stick. It was a relaxing and refreshing drink.

Another refreshing drink I recommend is the house blend, Crushed Lemongrass, cool and invigorating.

Over-all, Chaplin is a perfect spot to dine and drink while spending a nice chill “me” time or for catching up with friends with a couple of drinks and good food.
