EVENT: Silk Road Standing the Test of Time

I love being a foreigner living and working in a different country. I get to immerse myself in new cultures and experience new traditions.

Now that Chinese New Year is fast approaching, it was very exciting that I got to attend a fun cultural oriented event at the Metal Bees last January 16, 2016, which was set to commemorate Chinese traditions coming from ancient history that is the Silk Road.

I got to witness fun activities during the shindig such as the traditional tea preparation…

… and the art of  calligraphy. I was awed when the calligrapher artistically and gracefully wrote my name in Chinese!

We were then taken to a room to experience a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

We were serenaded by a Chinese jazz singer while Chef James Won and Enfine Culinary Team served us with Silk Road inspired delicacies.20160116_205209 20160116_205222

The yummy entrees for the night:

The evening was truly a treat as I learned more about Chinese history and the great significance and influential of Silk Road in the modern times… and how it left footprints in the hearts of people.
