HOOQ Turns Two: Celebrating 2 Years of Success and New Partnerships

I rarely watch TV nowadays. I usually pass time binge-watching movies and series in subscription video on demand (SVOD) services such as HOOQ, which a lot more convenient because I can watch anytime, anywhere at my own convenience.

A few days ago I was very fortunate to be invited to attend HOOQ’s second year anniversary. I was surprised because it was a star-studded event. I remembered bumping into TJ Trinidad at the registration booth and walking past Fabio Ide by the dj booth. If I was not mistaken it was JC Santos who was I was blocking at the buffet table. Also the event was hosted by Tim Yap.

HOOQ, largest Video on Demand service in South-East Asia, had a very successful two years, giving us the best Asian and Hollywood entertainment. And just recently they will be joined by new partners!

“Securing new partners such as Paramount pictures, BBC and Endemol Shine are a testament to the fact that HOOQ has the right formula to deliver quality entertainment to Asian homes, with a balance of the best Asian films and dramas alongside solid Hollywood blockbusters and series.  We have never been more elated and will continue to push boundaries to evolve and stay committed to delivering the best entertainment to our customers with new services such as TVOD that bring movies to your homes quicker than ever before – even as part of your SVOD subscription,” said Chief Executive Officer of HOOQ, Mr Peter Bithos.

Apart from the Hollywood partnerships, HOOQ also closed down exclusive deals with Viva Communications and Regal Entertainment for digital rights to their new movies within 3 months of theatrical release. Recent hits such as Camp Sawi, Bakit Lahat ng Guapo May Boyfriend & I Love You to Death have already debuted on HOOQ.  Mano Po 7, Die Beautiful, The Escort, and My Rebound Girl will be on HOOQ within the next quarter.

“In the Philippines, we made sure to put together the best Filipino content for our subscribers with a combination of the top local studios and independent filmmakers. This combined with HOOQ’s strategy of serving premium Hollywood content, as well as our key distribution partnership with Globe has contributed to making HOOQ the regional leader,” says Ms. Jane Cruz-Walker, HOOQ Philippines Country Manager.

Apart from the awesome give-aways and raffle draw, the night was made more fun thanks to the hot models who represented the different upcoming movies HOOQ has lined up.
