Hotel Review: Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore

Have you met “Jen”?  The popular persona of “Hotel Jen”?

She’s the virtual character that represents the hotel, also known as “a professional hotelier and all-time lover of life, travel and discovery”. Hotel Jen accommodated me hospitably at their hotel in Tanglin during my recent visit at Singapore.

The moment I stepped out of the cab that took me to Hotel Jen Tanglin, I was immediately welcomed by one of the staff at the door and helped me with my heavy luggage all the way to the lobby. “Jen” even offered me their Signature Iced Tea as I check the lobby area.

????????????????????????????????????
Refreshing!

At the entrance, there was a note inviting me to post my recommendations on where to eat and what to visit in Singapore in the huge drawing of a map of SG. There were already a lot of little notes of recommendations from her previous guests, which was pretty interesting.

As I went to get myself checked in, I found out that “Jen” already booked me in one of the rooms at the Club Floor. Checking-in was fast and high-tech as I had to sign in reception’s Wacom. I actually mistaken the stylus pen as an actual pen and tried to use it to write on my paper *embarrassing*.

Anyway, after the amiable receptionist briefed me with the perks of being one of their guests, I immediately went up to the Club Floor to put my luggage down and rest. And boy did “Jen” surprised me with a cozy room that looked so homey it felt like it was own bedroom.

Love this welcoming gift :)

I guess that was the vibe “Jen” wanted to implicate to their refurbished rooms. Their new contemporary interiors design seems to be following the new trend of today’s “Jeneration”.

My favorite part is the comfy sofa by the window. The cute statement pillows added that laidback feel to the room as well.

The room also has ergonomic furniture and they made very good use of every space in the rooms.

The bathroom is small, but who needs a huge bathroom anyway.

Now let’s talk about one of the special perks of being in the Club Floor… I have insta access to the Club Lounge, cliquey chill-out with one of the most cordial crew ever. The lounge is open 24 hours. They serve light snacks such as cookies and nuts all day round plus cup noodles at night (just in case guests get hungry in the middle of the night)! I went to stay there to for some afternoon snacks from 2pm to 4pm, which are mostly pastries and breads. Then I decided to stay there until the lounge’s Cocktail Hour from 5pm to 7:30pm. They served whiskey, gin, wines and a bunch of other beverages, as well as some great food to go along with the drinks. I got to enjoy beer and some nachos and chicken tikka while hanging out at the lounge.

I also had my breakfast the Club Lounge too. Breakfast buffet in the lounge is open from 6:30 am daily and ends at 11 am on weekdays and 12 noon on weekends.  The spread is really superb. I like that they have tapao boxes available so I don’t need to secretly hideaway my croissant. I just went ahead and ta pao some food up to take with me to my room. Jen is really “Jenerous”.

But of course, the highlight of my stay was I got to experience a one-on-one session with the hotel’s fitness coach, Sidek. He was really awesome and he taught me easy but intensive workouts that I can also use at home. We were able to greatly utilize the hotel’s 24-hour gym as we started out with cardio at the thread mill, lunges and squats using dumbbells and whole lot more. The session may seem easy but it was pretty intense! I really felt the burn!

Then again, my most favorite part of the hotel is the Health Club and Spa because I got to use the sauna, steam room… and the whirlpool! I felt ultimately relaxed afterwards.

Health Club Membership:
1 Month: SGD 180
3 Months: SGD 500

6 Months: SGD 800

12 Months: 1500

The hotel has two beautiful pools. I love how big and spacious the pools are. Lounging around the pool area is very relaxing as well because the pool area is nestled amidst lush trees.

It is also good to note that the hotel is conveniently connected to the Tanglin Mall and is a walking distance to Orchard Road. They also provide a free shuttle going to Orchard Road train station every hour.

At the end of my stay, I almost didn’t want to leave as I really enjoyed Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore. I am so looking forward for the whole Hotel Jen Tanglin to be fully renovated by December 2015. It is going to be LeJen—wait for it—Dary… LeJENdary!
