Cosplay is not only a rising popular culture but it’s also a form of art where creativity and talent take centerstage while crafting the costume and props as well as portraying the character. It’s a fun hobby that demands time, effort and dedication.
I love attending cosplay events as I used to cosplay way back so I just had to witness Klang Parade mall’s Cosplay Party event last December 27, 2015.
During the event’s cosplay competition cosplayers were able to showcase their amazing talents as they strut their stuff and wowed the crowd with their fantastic performance acting as the character they cosplaying.
The contest was judged according to the following criteria:
Costume – 40%
Catwalk – 10%
Creativity – 20%
Performance – 30%
A lot of cosplayers joined the competition and they were all great. I bet the judges had a hard time selecting the deserving bunch to take home cash and prizes. But there can only be three victors… and the winners were:
Champion – Roxas Tam & Wei Qi as “Sora & Lingering Will from Kingdom Hearts” bagged RM 2000 cash & prizes
1st Runner – Muhammad Faris bin Eshamuddin as “Mr.Satan from Dragonball” won RM 1000 cash & prizes
2nd Runner – Mohd Aizat Safwan as “Uchiha Madara from Naruto” got to take home RM 500 cash & prizes
It was a great thing for Klang Valley to hold such an event to highlight the cosplayers. I enjoyed mingling and taking pictures with the cosplayers. Seeing them in costume somehow awakened my desire to cosplay once again. Hopefully, I will be able to join them in the next cosplay convention soon.
